need something small and sweet for the neighbors, the teachers or for the hosts of all the holiday parties? here are two of my favorite gift recipes. the first one is super super ridiculously easy- honey butter. but this isn't just any honey butter its the texas roadhouse honey butter {yes lesley... texas roadhouse!!!} its so so good... make sure and make extra for your self, then slather it on everything in sight.
honey butter:
2 sticks of butter
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup honey
2 teaspoon cinnamon
whip together.
the second is a little more difficult {and a little more time consuming} but definitely worth it! as far back as i can remember my mom would make this fudge for us around this time of year, and actually it never really feels like the holidays until we make it. it is my absolute favorite fudge recipe and one of my favorite recipes of all time that mom has passed down from my granny.
{merry christmas mom!}
fudge:
3 cups sugar
3 heaping tablespoons cocoa
pinch salt
1 1/4 cup evaporated milk {or 1 cup milk}
3 tablespoons peanut butter
3 tablespoons marshmallow cream
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
combine sugar, cocoa, salt. add milk. cook over medium heat {once starts to boil you can lower heat but make sure still at a boil} stirring constantly, until a hard ball forms when you pour a little sample into a cup of ice cold water. once done, add remaining ingredients quickly, making sure well combined, and pour into butter dish.
here are a few of the ways i've wrapped up my sweets . you may recognize these treat bag left over from the baby shower i threw {... so happy i had extras!} then i just christmas'd them up!!
