bachelorette stuff part 1

Thursday, April 26, 2012

as i mentioned a few times this past month i have been busy with lots of little projects for a bachelorette weekend in ausin, tx... and now that it's over {sad face... miss you girlies klkeaj} i can show a few things i made for the weekend! first up are the bags. the one that says "i said yes" i ordered off of a shop on etsy called astylishdesign. i wanted to make all the other girls gift bags that kinda went along with the brides bag so i went to hobby lobby and got these canvas bags, pink paint and contact paper. cut a heart out of the center of the contact paper and stuck to the middle of the bag then painted the heart on top. i thought they came out pretty cute and who doesn't want a cute little canvas tote with a big pink heart on it???

 {my own mommys hands put to work}

next up the cups! we wanted to make some fun glasses to drink out of while we were in the hotel room doing the lingerie party and other activities. since we were in austin i thought what would be more fitting than a mason jar! but the main reason im showing you these is for those of you who have tried to decorate glass things before and couldn't get it straight...here's the trick! print out what you want to write on paper, then tape it to the inside of the glass! all you have to do is trace and try to keep your hand from shaking!

ps here are the invitations i made for the bachelorette party incase you missed that post and need some inspiration!

I'm not familiar with the contact paper to canvas? Can you give more detail on the guest bags. I love that idea and you made it look easy with just painting the heart...Does the contact paper iron on? is there a special kind? ...lol I'm clueless.

dominique :

so i jut bought a roll of contact paper. you can get it at any craft store, its sticky on one side, like sticker paper, but still easily removeable {some people use it to line the insides of the cabinets and drawers even to protect them... you know that stuff?} then i just cut a piece about 12 inches by 12 inches. next i cut a heart out of the center, peeled the backing off and stuck it to the canvas bags and painted! i promise it so much easier than you are thinking!!! good luck!! xoxox
